Overview
Before a listing can be transferred from one brokerage to another, MLS Now requires specific documentation to authorize the transfer. Membership must receive and verify all required documents before any transfer can be processed.
Required Authorization Form
An "Authorization to Transfer and Release Listing Contract/Agreement" must be submitted before the transfer can occur.
Please note: MLS Now does not provide this form. Brokers must use their own agreement or create one that meets the requirements below.
For Active Listings
The authorization agreement must include:
- Signatures of the originating broker, originating agent, receiving agent, receiving broker, and the seller
- The listing number and property address
- Clear terms explaining the transfer and release
For Off-Market Listings
(This applies to off-market listings only — expired or withdrawn listings are excluded from this process.)
The authorization agreement must include:
- Signatures of the originating broker, originating agent, receiving agent, receiving broker, and the seller
- The listing number and property address
- Clear terms explaining the transfer and release
What Happens Next
Once all required documents have been received and verified by MLS Now staff, the listing(s) will be transferred into Matrix.
